Greetings, loyal followers!

At least those I have left, or who bother to read journals like this(which I haven't done in a long while).

I've had this on my mind since seeing the My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic Season 8 two part premier "School Daze", and I felt I just had to write it down in a journal.

You see, in the Equestrian multiverse, I've always imagined my OC, Karkovice Drake, to be the lead singer of a musical group called The Reptilians, that were made up of some of the dinosaur cast from Harry And His Bucketful Of Dinosaurs, who were somehow magically transported to Equestria, and were later made to form the group.

The composition of the group would be as follows:

Karkovice Drake - Lead vocals
Taury T-Rex - piano, keyboards and backup vocals
Terence Pterodactyl - Drums
Steggy Stegasaurus - Rhythm and percussion guitars
Trike Triceratops - Bass guitar

Patsy Apatosaurus would sometimes appear to play saxophone and other percussion instruments in some of their concerts, when called for.

Karkovice(Kark to his friends) has been friends with The Royal Sisters, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, for a long time; and acted as Tutor for Twilight Sparkle while she was at The School For Gifted Unicorns in Canterlot.

Before he came to form The Reptilians, he would often tell stories to Twilight about his love for music ever since he was a youngling, and would often sing some of the songs he liked to her. Twilight thought he had a golden voice, and would often be quite moved by the songs he sang.

There is a running theory among the brony community that Equestria is the Earth of the future where mankind has died out, and ponies became one of the sentient creatures of the planet; and music was one of the things left behind by that once great civilization. The Royal Archives at Canterlot would be chuck full of old records, CDs, MP3s, whathaveyou, of the music that was produced; and Kark would often spend hours down there listening to all of the wonderful sounding songs. That's where he came up with the idea of forming his band with those dinosaurs from that other multiverse.

This concert I imagined takes place on the night following the reopening of Twilight's School Of Friendship, and the stage would be set up somewhere on the school grounds. Twilight asked her old friend, Karkovice Drake, and his band to put on this concert for all of the students of her school, their friends and family.

Here's the list of songs that they would play:

"The Kid Is Hot Tonight" by Loverboy(Kark and The Reptilians often like to begin their concerts with this song)

"Smokin'" by Boston(featuring the keyboard solo by Taury on the restored pipe organ taken from The Castle Of The Two Sisters, and now kept at Twilight's Palace).

"Teacher Teacher" by 38 Special(dedicated to Twilight's new school).

"Chains Of Love" by Erasure.

"That Song" by Big Wreck.

"We'll be right back!" Kark would say into the microphone as he and the members of his band dashed off the stage.

They would return five minutes later dressed up like the Sargent Pepper band.
Knowing that the yaks and hippogriffs love The Beatles(especially after hearing Princess Skystar sing "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds"), they decided to perform a few of their songs.

When the cheers and applause finally died down, they would start off with their rendition of "Sargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band/With A Little Help From My Friends". Followed by "A Day In The Life", then "Goodbye Hello".

The group would then walk off the stage, except for Kark and Steggy. After removing their Sargent Pepper costumes, they both grabbed a stool each and set them down in the middle of the stage. Kark sits down, grabs the microphone in front of him, and said the following while Steggy sits on his own stool and begins to tune his acoustic guitar.

"We weren't sure about playing this next song tonight, because of the negative connotation of the lyrics; but then we thought 'It's got such a nice guitar rhythm to it, and it talks about school in a way, so let's do it!'. That's what Steggy here says." Some cheers emerged from thee crowd.

"So don't try to read too much into the lyrics. Just listen to Steggy's awesome guitar mastery. It's called 'Working Class Hero'".

More cheers erupted as they went into the classic John Lennon single.

After the cheers and applause died down from the end of the song, Kark spoke again. "This one's a little happier!"

They would then go into their rendition of "Never Going Back Again" by Fleetwood Mac.

When the song was over, Steggy got up, put the stool away, bowed slightly, then walked off the stage to the thunderous applause. Kark would remain sitting, waiting for Taury to take his place behind the piano. Both would do their rendition of "Imagine" by John Lennon.

After that song, both leave the stage. Pterence comes back and goes into a five minute drum solo.

The rest of the band comes back to then perform "Stranglehold" by Ted Nugent.

Then, knowing how much the dragons and griffons love Canadian stuff(especially Kim Mitchell), they would perform the following songs:

"High Class In Borrowed Shoes" by Max Webster.

"That's The Hold" by Kim Mitchell.

"America" by Kim Mitchell(renamed "Equestria" by Kark)

"Go For Soda" by Kim Mitchell.

and "All We Are" by Kim Mitchell.

Followed by "Subdivisions" by Rush.

I never imagined the changelings putting much importance into music; but King Thorax, after attending a few concerts put on by The Reptilians, would try to get his people to like it more, having grown to appreciate the joy music can bring.

Encore performance:

Their rendition of "Another Brick In The Wall(Extended Version)" by Pink Floyd. They would have the six Friendship Students come on stage to sing the chorus. They would even have Grampa Gruff play the part of old man who screams "HOW CAN YOU HAVE ANY PUDDING, IF YOU'RE TRYING TO KILL ME!?"

Then, after thanking the audience for coming out tonight and supporting the new Friendship School, they would go into their rendition of Boston's "Four Play/Taking My Time"(they often like to end their concerts with this song).

So there you have it! I don't know if I'll be putting up any other journal entries like this in the future. I guess it depends on what the upcoming episodes of the show inspire me to do.
