Hello, loyal followers! :)

Fresh off of watching the latest installment of pony goodness; it's time, once again, for me to offer up my impressions on the episode gone by. As usual, since this journal entry contains SPOILERS, it's best to view the episode before reading what I have to say here. So, without further adue, let's get right down to it, shall we? :)

This episode centers around Twilight Sparkle giving Starlight Glimmer her next friendship lesson. What is the lesson, you may ask: Make a new friend and invite him/her to a special dinner at Twilight's palace with Princess Celestia as a way to show the most powerful pony in all of Equestria(she IS like the U.S. President, after all =P ) how Starlight's friendship lessons are progressing.

The key word here being "NEW". That is to say: She can't invite a pony she's already friends with, so that rules out Sunburst. I was a little bit disappointed with this, because I would've liked to have seen him again.

As expected, Starlight Glimmer was struggling to make that all important new friend... until a chance encounter with a mysterious pony while at Lotus and Aloe's spa. This other pony was able to relate to what Starlight went through; thus a connection was made; and lo and behold, that all important new friendship was struck.

Turns out, Starlight's new friend was The Great and Powerful TRRRRIXIE! When Starlight introduced her new friend to Twilight, she was none too pleased, as expected. I can surely sympathize. I wouldn't like it either, if my best friend was to become friends with my worst enemy.

What happens next is we see Twilight trying to convince Starlight to stop being friends with Trixie, and make another friend that was more to Twilight's liking. Of course, Starlight would have none of it, for she saw in Trixie a kindred spirit. Of COURSE! She was a former villain, like Starlight was.

What ends up happening is Starlight skips out on the all important dinner to help Trixie out with her new magic act, as she was just hired by Trixie to be her new Assistant. The actual trick was something worthy of Evil Knievel and Harry Houdini(who was ponified as HOOFdini in a brief sequence), as she was to be shot out of a cannon straight into a live manticore's mouth, and Starlight's job was to teleport Trixie into a locked box after being swallowed by the manticore.

Meanwhile, back at Twilight's palace, Twilight was entertaining an impatient Princess Celestia while wondering where Starlight was. She even had Derpy, Vinyl Scratch and Cranky Doodle Donkey as stand ins for Starlight's all important friends. =P At one point, she excused herself to go look for Starlight. When she finally found her at Trixie's magic show, she apologized to Starlight; having realized  the error of her ways. She should not have tried to pick and choose Starlight's friends for her; but instead, should have allowed Starlight to make up her own damned mind(A very important moral lesson here, I might add. :)  )

There were a few funny moments in the episode. Like a scene where Starlight Glimmer turned Big Macintosh into a blabbermouth using a spell, when Applejack introduced him to her as a potential friend. Why did she do that? In her own words, she "didn't want to be friends with somepony who didn't talk."

Matter of fact, much of the episode was pretty funny. I certainly liked it! :)

I also think that this was the first episode that Princess Celestia had appeared in where she doesn't say anything. Usually, she has SOME words of wisdom to say to somepony, or another. :P

And that's all there is to say about that. 'Til next time! :D

In the meantime, and in between time, keep your stick on the ice. :)

I tried watching this one and I gave up two minutes in so I have no real comment for it.
